DescriptionAt Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system, a massive undertaking that we couldn’t tackle without a strong team. With our company in constant expansion, we’re looking for a spreadsheet pro to become our future Accountant. The Accountant will support the Accounting and Administration departments with the day-to-day accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting activities, and the realization of various special projects, such as financial ERP system implementation. The right candidate is self-motivated, has strong analytical and organizational skills, and is extremely detail-oriented. Responsibilities:•Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and financial reports and provide timely, accurate financial analysis;•Prepare journal entries;•Support with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes;•Support with the implementation of the new financial ERP system;•Support with various IT projects that impact the accounting department;•Support with the development and implementation of dashboards and management reports;•Develop, implement, and enforce policies, procedures, and business processes that improve the operations and effectiveness of the company;•Build relationships with other departments and help create system solutions to accurately record operating activities;•Support with audits (annual audited financial statements, ad hoc tax audits);•Prepare various analyses as requested by Management;•Support with Board of Directors and shareholder presentations, as needed.Requirements:•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; •A minimum of one year of applicable business experience; •Excellent skills in Excel/Google Sheets, Google Suite, and Information Systems Software;•Strong analytical background;•Sound technical skills, analytical ability, and a strong operational focus;•Articulate and excellent presentation preparation and delivery skills;•Detail-oriented, autonomous, and able to work on multiple projects at a time;•Excellent communication skills, written and spoken (English and French);•Well organized, rigorous, proactive, self-directed, and high adaptability to changes in a fast-moving environment.Assets•Recognized accounting designation (CPA) (or in the process of obtaining);•Experience with Oracle NetSuite software;•Experience in financial ERP implementation;•Experience in food production, food delivery, grocery and/or real estate markets.Schedule:•40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.Compensation & benefits:•Salary to be determined based on experience and knowledge of the candidate;•You’ll be eligible to participate in the firm’s health insurance, dental, and disability programs after completion of the probationary period (paid 50% by the employee and 50% by Lufa Farms);•Access to TELUS Health Virtual Care (direct contact to health professionals by phone, video, or chat) and the Employee and Family Assistance Program (professional, short-term counseling, covering a broad range of interpersonal issues);•30% discount on your Lufa Farms basket.
