Description
At Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system by growing food where people live and growing it more sustainably. To do this, we built the world’s first commercial rooftop greenhouse and partner with hundreds of local farms and food makers to offer fresh, local, responsible food to our customers across Quebec. To continue changing the way cities eat, we need a dedicated and passionate Junior Sales Team Lead who can lead and motivate a team of sales representatives and reach out to our future customers.
The Junior Sales Team Lead manages our sales representatives. They also organize and participate in events as needed to convey our vision to everyone they meet while signing up as many new Lufavores as possible to our weekly basket service.
Responsibilities:
Recruit, train, and coach sales representatives;
Manage a team whose main goal is to sign as many people up as possible for our weekly basket subscription;
Motivate and support your team to improve their performance;
Research and develop partnerships with private or public entities to set up events;
Book events for yourself and other representatives by contacting various organizers;
Find new locations, evaluate their potential, contact the necessary people, and negotiate agreements that benefit both parties;
Maintain solid relationships with these partners.
Coordinate the logistics of Quebec City events (ordering baskets, transportation, organization, booth set-up and tear-down);
Show up to events on time with the event kit, set it up quickly, and make sure the table is always attractive and overflowing with veggies;
Write a short detailed report of the event.
Requirements:
Zero to two years of leadership experience;
Charming and confident public speaker. You’ll need to persuade complete strangers to sign up to a weekly food basket from a company they might have never heard about;
Resilient and optimistic in the face of constant rejection. No’s and objections don’t faze you;
Results and process-oriented. You’ll be evaluated (and compensated) based on the number of signups you and your team obtain at the events;
Able to lift and carry 15 kg. You’ll need to carry boxes of veggies to set up the kiosks;
Detail oriented;
A strong leadership style that prioritizes positive reinforcement;
Support, mentor, and motivate junior team members;
Comfortable using Google Suite;
Adaptable, eager to learn, ready for anything.
Assets:
Experience in selling directly to consumers;
Experience in organisation and logistics;
Demonstrated experience leading a team - coaching, patience, and positivity are essential;
Well-versed in sustainability, food systems, and food. You can speak confidently about a range of topics, including hydroponics, the role of biocontrols in pesticide-free agriculture, and the importance of last-mile logistics.
Genuine interest and enthusiasm for the Lufa Farms mission.
Have a driver's license.
Schedule:
Flexible hours are offered, but weekend shifts are required occasionally. The expected number of hours worked per week is between 30 and 40 hours.
A six-month commitment is expected. In addition, we offer the opportunity of working from home apart from the events.
Benefits:
You’ll be eligible to participate in the firm’s health insurance, dental and disability programs after completion of the probationary period (paid 50% by the employee and 50% by Lufa Farms);
Access to TELUS Health Virtual Care (direct contact to health professionals by phone, video, or chat) and the Employee and Family Assistance Program (professional, short-term counseling, covering a broad range of interpersonal issues);
30% discount on your Lufa Farms basket.
