A new year, a new box, the same passion for sustainability.

We are so proud and excited to be starting the new year with more than 3,000 locavores getting a weekly basket. After listening to your feedback and testing different models, we think we’ve found the best sustainable alternative to our cardboard boxes. Starting on Monday, these new baskets will be rolling out to pick-up points.

Why is this box awesome?

We’ll miss the trusty ol’ cardboard box, which we’ve been using since we delivered our first 400 baskets of fresh veggies in April 2011. But it’s time to make a change. The new basket can:

• Carry about 30% more stuff. No more hunting down that second box to find it only has one head of lettuce inside.
• Be reused thousands of times. So make sure to leave them at your pick-up point for us to collect the following week.
• Safely transport refrigerated goodies. We’ll be in touch when these products become available (hopefully very soon!), but please note that this means you’ll absolutely have to pick up your basket the same day as delivery.

There you have it! Remember to bring enough reusable bags next week and please check with your pick-up point manager about where to leave the empty bin.
