Merchandising Project Manager

The Merchandising Project Manager is responsible for introducing new products and services to the marketplace via unique and potentially complex multidisciplinary projects, as well as managing the evolution of said products and services. The projects are determined in close collaboration with the Supply and Merchandising Manager as well as the company’s management team. Projects can vary in complexity, and can last anywhere from 3 to 12 months.

Requirements:

  • Certification and experience with management of complex and multi-disciplinary projects and/or product management
  • Ability to research and find high-quality suppliers whose values both align and endorse the vision of Lufa Farms
  • Good negotiation skills and confident in business relationship development
  • Team management experience and ability to build a multi-disciplinary team when necessary
  • Organizational skills, punctuality and ability to work both independently and in teams in a fast and automated environment
  • Ability to work quickly and precisely without making errors in a constantly changing environment
  • Displays concern about the quality and standards of work
  • Great work ethic, flexibility, attention to detail and respect for both the products and stated deadlines

Warehouse Team Employee

This general position at Lufa Farms requires a candidate who is effective at three key roles at our warehouse: picking, packing and portioning. Different roles may vary according to the specific needs of our Montreal distribution center.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work quickly and precisely without making errors in a constantly changing environment under pressure
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Actively concerned and aware about both quality of work and of the products being handled
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy objects (+/- 20 lbs) and put them in inventory, sometimes on high shelves (6’ to 8’) using a ladder or stepladder if necessary
  • Ability to respect deadlines
  • Great work ethic, flexibility and attention to detail
  • Familiar with the use of electronic devices such as computers, tablets, and associated applications
  • Able to move products using a pallet truck, two wheeled hand truck, cart etc.

IT Support Agent (Junior)

The IT Support Agent will be responsible for a multitude of tasks while also acting as the main tech support for day-to-day employee issues at our Ahuntsic headquarters. This role will also include the responsibility of ensuring that all computer systems as well as networks are being monitored and maintained. We are looking for someone to:

  • Respond to technical requests using our Ticketing System
  • Setup computers, printers, phones, and iPads for employees
  • Maintain up-to-date our inventory of IT assets
  • Manage accesses for employees and Google Apps
  • Maintain / improve networks
  • Manage VoIP phone system and camera system
  • Enforce security policies on collaborative tools
  • Monitor infrastructure using Zabbix
  • Manage backups
  • Make sure IT documentation is up-to-date

Software Development Manager

Lufa Farms is looking for a hands-on manager for our Software Development department. The Software Development Manager will be responsible for the oversight and development of the department’s projects. We are looking for someone to:

  • Design, estimate, and code new features
  • Architect new applications, and expand existing ones
  • Investigate and fix production issues
  • Define, document, and enforce regulations, procedures and formal instructions
  • Perform code reviews of your team members' work
  • Mentor developers
  • Participate in sprint planning
  • Ensure all code that goes to production is of top quality
  • Ensure existing applications are scaled to meet expected demand
  • Continuously improve the software infrastructure, such as the deployment process

Requirements:

  • A natural leader
  • Experience in designing and developing high availability web applications or services
  • Experience in software testing, bug tracking and fixing
  • Experience in requirement writing and drafting

On-call Harvester

Harvesters work to ensure that produce is delivered fresh to our clients the following day and also help during plant pulls. Other duties include plant care and greenhouse janitorial tasks.


Requirements:

  • Must have access to a car
  • Independent
  • Comfortable with long periods of physical activity (8+ hours) in humid environment
  • Capable walking/bending and lifting for extended periods
  • Organized

Greenhouse Supervisor

The Greenhouse Supervisor is responsible for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the greenhouse. The Supervisor schedules and monitors all greenhouse activities and staff routines, plans for events and schedules maintenance/repairs. The Supervisor also participates in the hiring and evaluation of greenhouse staff.

Required:

  • At least 2 years’ experience managing a team
  • Comfortable with long periods of physical activity (8+ hours) in humid environment

  • Own vehicle or driver’s license

HR Assistant

The Assistant to HR is responsible for maintaining filing systems, updating job postings, verifying documentation prior to payroll processing and ensuring that employee files are kept up to date. The assistant will also help with screening resumes and preparing offer letters, contracts, and other documentation related to onboarding of new employees. This is a junior role.

Purchaser

The purchaser is responsible for managing all aspects inherent to our relations with suppliers, including:

  • Following up on supplier performance and managing all communications with our suppliers
  • Managing product characteristics in our product descriptions
  • Participating in transition meetings with new suppliers
  • Managing promotions and coordinating with the marketing team
  • Producing a quarterly product analysis leading to recommendations

Required:

Computer Graphic Designer (part-time)

This position will involve the visual design and the ongoing upkeep of all Lufa Farms’ software and applications. We are looking for someone with a strong background in user experience (UX) design and/or user interface who is able to enhance our applications and services. We are looking for someone to:

  • Create the most optimal user interface to facilitate its adoption by users
  • Design mockups to demonstrate usability to stakeholders prior to implementation
  • Prepare all visuals for development team to facilitate implementation
  • Contribute to the visual identity of Lufa Farms
  • Keep an up-to-date Lufa Farms’ style guide

Requirements:

  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience in the development of responsive designs
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar position (with portfolio of projects)

Warehouse Manager

The warehouse manager will be responsible for the Lufa Farms warehouse and distribution center. This role will involve building processes and procedures to achieve operational improvements related to reception, inventory, warehousing, portioning, cleaning and pick and pack operations by initiating, coordinating and coaching the team throughout the process. The manager will be in charge of maintaining the condition of the warehouse, planning and implementing new layouts as required and ensuring all equipment is maintained and working properly to ensure timely dispatch of the orders. The manager will also be responsible for integrating the use of automated and computerized systems into the current process and will need a deep understanding of how these systems function.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in warehouse management or supervision
  • Technically driven- someone that has attended a Promat conference and has a software background
  • Ability to analyze data and predict future needs- someone that dreams of puts per hour
  • Awareness of the latest trends in warehouse and distribution setup including emerging automation technologies and how they function
  • Experience in developing standards, operating procedures and the execution thereof to ensure productivity targets are achieved
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements and experience ensuring standards are met

Director of Merchandising

The Director of Merchandising will be responsible for the complete vision of the Lufa Farms online marketplace which involves creating and executing a full merchandizing plan based on data, trends and anticipated needs of our Lufavores. The Director of Merchandising will be responsible for building and managing the merchandising team, setting their objectives and outlining the software and tools they require. We are looking for an expert on what our Lufavores need and want and someone capable of seamlessly onboarding new products and suppliers and overseeing the marketing thereof. This will involve assessing the current product lineup and strategically planning in order to meet customer expectations as well as company objectives. This role also involves working closely with Marketing to ensure products are given the appropriate promotional attention as well as with Purchasing.

Requirements:

  • Good negotiation skills and confident in business relationship development
  • 5 years experience in a merchandising management or direction role
  • Experience in merchandising and establishing supplier relationships
  • Familiar with retail pricing and specials in the retail food industry
  • Strong day to day team management capabilities and experience and ability to build and performance manage a multi-disciplinary team when necessary
