Hypernature delivers city-grown greens to our ready-made menu.
Since the introduction of our ready-made meals category on our Marketplace, our goal has been to simplify life for Lufavores without compromising what’s on their plate. Our partners have set a high standard, preparing meals ideal for eating solo, sharing with family, or packing for the office, all while focusing on local, reliable ingredients you can feel good about.
Finding folks willing to craft fresh meals from scratch, either early in the morning or late into the night, isn’t all that easy. But for years, a handful of our partners have done exactly that - delivering daily made samosas, falafels, Algerian lentil soup, and sandwiches straight to your baskets. And now, new freshly prepared salads are joining the mix thanks to Hypernature, a Montreal urban farm and production kitchen specializing in organic sprouts.
Hypernature is on a mission to give sprouts a new rep. Founded in 1988 by Philippe Robillard as Pousse-menu, the urban farm evolved into Hypernature in 2024 when Ian Routhier and Myriam Huzel joined the team. Both passionate about food and wellness, the duo wanted to breathe new life into the company and help Philippe bring his business to the next level. Their main priority became highlighting sprouts not as garnish but as the nutritious, fresh, crunchy, versatile ingredient they truly are.
Since their rebrand, the team has set out to redefine the urban farm-to-table concept. Once seeds are planted in their indoor space near the Olympic Stadium, it takes just one week to go from germination to harvesting…and mixing straight into your bowl. Starting things off with three nutrient-packed recipes that put organic sprouts directly in the spotlight, their salads are freshly prepared each evening, and delivered to us at dawn just hours before your basket is assembled. At home, they’ll stay crisp for up to a week, ready to cover your on-the-go lunches or side dishes whenever you need.
This vertical farm brings a soil-based twist to urban spaces. Instead of hydroponics, Hypernature grows their microgreens in potting soil enriched with compost made onsite without synthetic pesticides. The same hands-on mindset drives their other sustainability initiatives - like minimal water use, recycled packaging wherever possible, and smart use of excess energy (which helps heat the La Vie en Rose offices next door). As for the rest of their ingredients, they work with a local organic farm in Lanaudière for their veg, get sunflower oil from Bromont, and spices from Val-David.
Hypernature’s arrival on our Marketplace is exactly where we’re headed with our ready-made meals: fresh, convenient options you can enjoy just about anywhere, without compromising on sustainability or quality. More than just salads - they’re the first partner we’ve onboarded who has long integrated their own urban farm into the process, growing key ingredients themselves to bring an ultra-fresh edge to their meals. Give their bowls a try as-is or pair them with your favourite dishes for an easy solution on your busiest days.
