Supporting Lufavores through our Direct Giving Program.
All month long, we met some of our unique Lufavores to get a deeper look into our community (don’t forget to check out latest feature In this final instalment of our four-part series, where we’re spotlighting a truly inspiring side of our community: the participants of our Direct Giving Program.
With the help of your donations and our incredible nonprofits partners, our program makes a direct impact on those who need it most. For a quick refresher, individuals and families receive $30 per person to spend across our Marketplace weekly, plus an extra 25% off all fruit and veg - giving them access to fresh food. A few weeks back, we took a trip to visit one of our partners connecting us with families facing food insecurity. Get a closer look at Au cœur de l’enfance and meet the amazing women they support.
A social paediatrics centre supporting pregnant women and new parents during crucial times. The late stages of pregnancy and the early days with a newborn can be especially demanding, and Au coeur de l’enfance gives families the support they need to promote quality development in children. The work they do is incredible, and we’re happy to help by offering our weekly baskets to 30 of their most needy families. Many of them are newcomers - when they first arrive, finding work, securing housing, and accessing healthcare can be overwhelming so we make food one less thing for them to worry about. Here’s what some of the mothers have shared about their experiences with the program:

Our program wouldn't be what it is without the combined effort of our nonprofit partners.
