Meet the Lufavores making the most of our pick-up points.
This month we’re kicking off a four-week miniseries spotlighting the folks who help drive our mission forward. From pick-up point enthusiasts to veteran subscribers, we’re hearing from a range of like-minded Lufavores supporting fresh, local, responsible.
In our first feature, we’re interviewing Lufavores making the most of our pick-up points. While visiting Cloche à Fromage in Montreal’s Technopôle Angus, we chatted with a few dedicated members as they picked up their weekly baskets.
Watch the video below or scroll down to meet the dedicated Lufavores picking up their baskets in the heart of the Rosemont borough.
Aurelia is celebrating two years as a Lufavore. With her pick-up point (aka PUP in Lufa Farms lingo) located right next to her home, she’s saving on the delivery cost without breaking a sweat. As for what’s in her basket, Aurelia skips big-ticket items and focuses on seasonal bounty - buying fresh and local produce to encourage a sustainable economy.
Meet Geneviève, taking weekly walks to her PUP with her two pups! After hearing about our rooftop greenhouses through a close pal (thanks friend!), joining the community “was a no-brainer”. Now a Lufavore for 10 years and counting, Geneviève has perfected her routine - she loves fetching her basket with her four-legged companions, saving money, and reducing her carbon footprint all at once.
Olivier’s six years in and enjoying every bite. Living just a short walk away, visiting his pick-up point is never a chore as it gives him the perfect chance to tour the block and see familiar faces along the way. He especially loves that the Marketplace is packed with greenhouse veggies and local products - supporting small businesses is what makes him proud to be a Lufavore.
Annette was excited to finally move close to a PUP. Settling down and becoming a Lufavore again after living a nomadic lifestyle for a while, Annette is happy to see a fresh flow of items backed with the same sustainable values. As an informed consumer and a highly curious person by nature, she enjoys reading up on our new partners and is impressed by the quality and traceability of our fruits and veg.
Jean brings along his grandkids to show the next generation of Lufavores how it’s done. After six years of weekly baskets, having fresh veg harvested and sent to him within 24 hours never gets old. Beyond our greenhouse bounty, Jean loves the selection of morning-made bread, sustainable sweets, responsible fish, and more - stamped with our Lufa Farms approval.
These neighbourhood spots are all about inclusivity and convenience. Talking with some of our Lufavores showed us just how much our PUPs mean to the community and how it can seamlessly fit into daily routines. Let’s keep sharing and connecting over fresh, local, responsible food and stay tuned for the next blog in this series, where we’ll highlight our longest-time members.
