How we relaunched the Night Kitchen with a fresh new take.

Lufavores who’ve been around long enough might remember the first launch of the Lufa Farms Night Kitchen - created to offer fresh ready-made meals prepped through the night. While we didn’t quite have the resources to pull it off in 2015, now that we have more partners, a bigger community, and a stronger foundation, we’re excited to bring it back with the same goal in mind:

  • Build a full range of products tailored to our Lufavores taste buds.
  • Make everything daily and on demand for ultra freshness. 
  • Use only the simplest, most responsible ingredients grown by our trusted partners. 

We’re thrilled to kick things off with cold-pressed citrus juices and shots - keep reading to learn all about this relaunch.

Leading the charge is Nader Kerbage, a graphic designer and incredible foodie with a deep understanding of food chemistry. Having bonded with our founder Mo through their shared love for fresh produce, it wasn’t long before we realized Nader would be the perfect person to run our Night Kitchen. 

By working directly with our trusted farmers, we’re cutting out the middleman. To find a traceable supply of citrus grown without synthetic pesticides, Nader and Mo went down to Florida to visit Alistair from Vitality Citrus. They were able to taste his fruits firsthand and inspect his groves, triple-checking his sustainable growing methods. To keep things fresh, our longtime partner sends us his citrus in a refrigerated truck, arriving at our Ville Saint-Laurent kitchen within a week of harvest.

From orchard to bottle with the simplest ingredients in mind. Every morning, Nader and his team press the day’s orders, skipping any preservatives and pasteurization to let the freshness of the fruit come through. Before we even start packing baskets for the day, everything is bottled and sent up one floor to our distribution centre and delivered to Lufavores within hours.

We’re kicking things off with a rotating lineup of juice and energizing shots that change with the seasons. Starting with pomelo and orange juice, lemonade, along with ginger and turmeric shots, stay tuned for more blends as we head into the colder months (aka citrus season is just getting started). We’ll keep a fresh rotation going, with new juices being pressed as soon as different varieties become ripe for the picking.
