Our team turns their weekly basket into camping baskets.
The great outdoors is calling your name, and we’re out to help you answer the call. We’ve gathered the happiest campers on our team to fill you in on how they check off their camping list with help from our Marketplace.
Whether you’re an aspiring camper or a pro, keep scrolling for our team’s tips and tricks.

Here are Caroline’s picks - our sporadic camper. She’s one of our Product Managers, and she explores Quebec and Ontario through camping trips a couple of times a year. A former Scout, she was reintroduced to it as an adult and hasn’t looked back since.
For Caroline and her partner, it’s all about being surrounded by nature as they go about their routine of hiking, cooking, and sleeping, and they look forward to bringing their toddler on their next trip. Her fave time to camp is in the late spring before the mosquitoes are out for blood (she’ll bring along our organic insect repellent on her next outing).
Along with a hammock, headlamp, and a great book, she stocks up on certified camping classics like marshmallows, chocolate wafers (did somebody say s’mores!?), local beer, and easy snacks like dried mango and raw cashews. When it comes to supper, the simpler the dish (and the less cleaning required), the better - Caroline recommends whittling a stick and roasting hotdogs and sausages over a campfire or grilling some burgers and seasonal veggies.
Team Tip! There are all types of camping styles, from camping with your car nearby and glamping to no amenities at all. So, set your expectations and choose whichever you’re most comfortable with - all that matters is that you get outdoors!

Check out Sarah’s selection - our backpacking camper. When she's not working with our fruit partners, our Purchaser’s busy enjoying them on mountain peaks from the Laurentians to the Adirondacks. Sarah got into camping during a school trip and has been back as a volunteer every year since, also camping monthly from spring to fall with her friends.
As a camper that prioritizes lightweight items, Sarah’s strategic and selective when it comes to prepping for her hiking and canoe camping trips. She starts her mornings with oatmeal made from raw oats featuring nuts and seasonal fruits. Along her journey, she dines on pre-made sandwiches, and once she settles in at a mountain peak, she turns to a Mid-Day square for a celebratory snack with a killer view.
Her go-to meal back at camp includes dried sausages, dried pasta, aged cheddar cheese, pesto, and seasonal veg. On her next trip, she’ll be adding jerky, trail mix, and some dehydrated dishes from Dunord to her backpack.
Team Tip! Bring enough food! You’ll want something exciting to return to at the campsite, so be sure to have plenty of options (our Marketplace can help with that).

These are David’s staples - our die-hard camper. Once the weekend starts, our Digital Acquisitions Manager hops in his pre-packed car and sets out for the Adirondacks. David appreciates being in wild nature that hasn’t been manicured or maintained, and he spends his weekends out there until it’s too cold to sleep in his gear (spending his winters not-so-patiently waiting to get back out there).
Although he enjoys camping with his friends, he can’t resist the mountains, so you’ll catch him there solo if they can’t tag along. He alternates between hiking and biking, camping near the trailhead to get an early start every morning. Before he sets out, David applies some SPF and grabs a banana, a muffin, and a granola bar for fuel.
After a day of exploring the wilderness, he unwinds with a post-workout kombucha. And, when it comes to cooking, it’s just David, his trusty pot, and his portable grill out there. He likes to keep things simple with hearty, one-pot recipes like his preferred meal of sausages, tomatoes, pasta, and in-season veg.
Team Tip! Take it from a self-proclaimed camping addict, don’t get stressed out about getting the right gear - the whole point is to shed everything and enjoy the wilderness. So, grab the basics, your basket, and get out there!
Happy camping!
