DescriptionAt Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system, and a huge part of this is achieved by growing food where people live, and growing it responsibly. To do this, we built the world’s first commercial rooftop greenhouse and partnered with hundreds of local farms and food makers to assemble and deliver thousands of customized baskets filled with fresh, local, responsible food to our customers across Quebec and the Ottawa area every week. To keep our logistics running smoothly and our customers happy, we’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented leader to join our operations team. The Logistics Supervisor plays a key role in managing the day-to-day execution of both home deliveries and pick-up points, optimizing routes, resolving issues with transport partners, and enforcing safety and service standards. This role requires someone who’s strategic, quick to act when problems arise, and confident managing people and processes across a fast-paced delivery network.Responsibilities•Keep up with weekly and daily reporting;•Problem solve with transport contractor company managers;•Updating the routes daily to optimize, and accommodate customer requests;•Collaborate with the Operations team regarding truck or trailer loading challenges and other operations or logistics issues;•Supervise communications with pick-up points;•Daily and weekly follow-ups with the transport contractors;•Work in coordination with the customer service dispatcher and continuously update the Customer Service department about changes;•Report for truck and home deliveries for the previous week (transport billing);•Administer penalties to subcontractors for violations, and follow up to ensure the best quality of service;•Enforce laws and guidelines such as CNESST guidelines;•Daily checks on the loading dock and basement after loading.Requirements•Great attention to detail and accuracy;•A natural leader; •Strong personality; •Capable of managing and enforcing regulations and formal instructions; •This person should be ready to step in and take action when needed (if there is a problem at 10 pm you’ll go out there and do something about it);•Strategic and logistical thinker;•Good negotiator;•Comfortable pushing back;•Problem solver;•Great work ethic.Schedule•40 hours per week from Monday to Friday with morning and evening shifts available, overtime is sometimes required.Compensation & benefits:•Salary to be determined based on the candidate’s experience and knowledge;•You’ll be eligible to participate in the firm’s health insurance, dental and disability programs after completion of the probationary period (paid 50% by the employee and 50% by Lufa Farms);•Access to TELUS Health Virtual Care (direct contact to health professionals by phone, video, or chat) and the Employee and Family Assistance Program (professional, short-term counselling, covering a broad range of interpersonal issues);•30% discount on your Lufa Farms basket.
