DescriptionAt Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system and a huge part of this is achieved by growing food where people live, and growing it responsibly. This led us to build the world’s first commercial rooftop greenhouse in 2011, followed by the world’s largest less than a decade later. With five urban farms (and counting!) producing year-round, we’re looking for a motivated individual to become our Maintenance Technician.The Maintenance Technician ensures the proper functioning and preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and infrastructure in and outside of our rooftop greenhouses. They work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, thermal, and computer systems related to climate control, irrigation, ventilation, lighting, and the greenhouse structure. They ensure optimal growing conditions while maintaining the safety and durability of the installations.ResponsibilitiesPreventive and corrective maintenance:•Perform regular maintenance of installations (heating, ventilation, irrigation, automation, etc.);•Diagnose breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs quickly to minimize downtime;•Conduct regular inspections of structures (roofing, walls, opening mechanisms, framing, etc.) to detect signs of wear or damage.Technical systems management:•Work on heating systems (boilers, hydraulic networks), cooling systems (shade curtains, vents), and irrigation systems (drip lines, automated fertilization), etc.;•Maintain computerized control systems (climate management software, programmable controllers).Safety and compliance:•Apply safety standards for working at heights, with electricity, and in humid environments;•Keep maintenance logs and intervention reports up to date;•Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures.Operational support:•Collaborate with production teams to adjust equipment based on crop needs;•Participate in the installation of new equipment and greenhouse modernization projects;•Train users on proper equipment use and maintenance practices.Requirements•Diploma in industrial maintenance, electrotechnics, mechanics, or a related field;•Experience in an agricultural, horticultural, or industrial building maintenance environment;•Valid driver’s license and access to a car;•Knowledge of electricity, plumbing, mechanics, hydraulics, and automation;•Good knowledge of diagnostic and maintenance tools;•Ability to work at heights and in warm, humid environments;•Strong organizational skills, responsiveness, autonomy, and teamwork spirit.Assets•Certification for working at heights or electrical safety;•Welding or plumbing training;•Scissor lift (Skyjack) certification.Schedule•Full-time (40 hours per week);•Paid on-call duty every four weeks - one week on call /4 weeks;•Must be reachable and available outside regular working hours for emergencies.Compensation & Benefits•Salary is to be determined based on experience and knowledge of the candidate;•Cell phone bill refunded up to $60;•You’ll be eligible to participate in the firm’s health insurance, dental, and disability programs after completion of the probationary period (paid 50% by the employee and 50% by Lufa Farms);•Access to TELUS Health Virtual Care (direct contact to health professionals by phone, video, or chat) and the Employee and Family Assistance Program (professional, short-term counselling, covering a broad range of interpersonal issues);•30% discount on your Lufa Farms basket.

Responsibilities
Preventive and corrective maintenance:
