DescriptionAt Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system by growing food where people live and growing it more sustainably. To do this, we built the world’s first commercial rooftop greenhouse and partner with hundreds of local farms and food makers to offer fresh, local, responsible food to our customers across Quebec. To make sure our clients get their basket on time and in good condition, we’re looking for a Packing Team Supervisor.A true leader, the Packing Team Supervisor is at the head of the largest team in the Distribution Centre. They’re responsible for planning and executing the packing and loading of all of our baskets. If you have experience leading a team and you thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.Responsibilities•Supervise and lead the packing team;•Ensure the safety of the team by making sure everyone follows the operational safety guidelines;•Conduct daily follow-ups with the team, whether through team meetings, one-on-one meetings, or coaching conversations;•Monitor team members' productivity and manage performance;•Ensure the team feels valued and supported by giving positive or constructive feedback;•Promptly address team members who don’t meet expectations, clearly outline the expectations in a documented conversation;•Help train tomorrow’s team leaders by mentoring team members, guiding them, and providing continuous feedback;•Have weekly 1-1s with Team Leads;•Review all reports, as required by your supervisor, and provide detailed action plans for improvement;•Set an example by behaving in the way you expect the team to behave;•Be able to anticipate and manage staffing needs for the coming days or weeks;•Work closely with HR to address staffing needs;•Ensure that the packing and loading teams are synchronized to maintain a balance between the two departments; •Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety;•Ensure that all equipment is operational;•Be ready to step in and lend a hand where needed;•Maintain open communication with team members, department supervisors, directors, assistant directors, and HR (if necessary);•Work closely with all other departments to ensure a balanced distribution of the workforce and provide support to these departments when needed;Requirements•Strong leadership skills;•Ability to act rationally under pressure;•Ability to set boundaries, expectations, and impose limits;•Highly organized, able to multitask and prioritize;•Strong problem solving skills;•Experience managing a team;•Work experience in warehouse logistics;•Ability to set up and maintain operational standards;•Must be a critical thinker, always on the lookout for a better way of doing things;•Great work ethic, flexibility, attention to detail, and respect for products and deadlines;•Ability to enforce rules and set expectations clearly;•Strong communication skills in French and English (oral and written).Assets•Experience in the field of agriculture, food production, warehousing, or logistics;•University diploma;•Genuine interest in Lufa Farms, our mission, and business model.Schedule•Sunday to Wednesday, 35 hours weekly.
