Description
At Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system, and a huge part of this is achieved by growing food where people live, and growing it responsibly. To do this, we built the world’s first commercial rooftop greenhouse and partnered with hundreds of local farms and food makers to assemble and deliver thousands of customized baskets filled with fresh, local, responsible food to our customers across Quebec every week. To optimize our daily operations in our distribution centre, we’re looking for a Reception Assistant Director.
The Reception Assistant Director manages the day-to-day of reception operations while also acting as a visionary by auditing current processes and refining them to make operations as clean and efficient as possible. The Reception Assistant Director will be held responsible for a set of KPIs (cost, quality, error rates, turnover, employee morale, waste) and must be ready to tackle these metrics fearlessly. Taking on this role also requires a natural born leader and experienced manager. We welcome candidates from all stages of their career to apply for this role.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of about five direct reports, who collectively supervise a team of over 70 people working across a 24-hour shift;
Run a tight ship, by managing said team as well as coordinating software requirements for custom warehouse logistics tools;
Manage weekly report on KPIs and seek continuous improvement initiatives;
Ensure all reception standards and processes are strictly adhered to, as well as adapt and create new processes to address bottlenecks;
Make sure Health and Safety rules are followed to the letter, addressing near miss or incidents properly and creating action plans to avoid future occurrences;
Collaborate with other teams (Purchasing, Billing, and Finance) to address and resolve issues, and plan accordingly for different seasonal changes;
Receive, manage, and store inventory of third-party suppliers as well as provide accurate inventory reports;
Conduct biweekly timecard audits, bonus computation, and analysis based on KPIs;
Oversee special projects related to inventory management, efficiency, improvements, and other capacity gains or cost reductions.
Requirements
Experience in reception, inbound and outbound logistics, and warehouse management or supervision;
Knowledge of health and safety requirements and experience ensuring standards are met;
Ability to analyze data and predict future needs;
Comfortable with Google Suite and similar software applications;

Assets
Experience within the food industry;
Bi- (or tri- or quadri-)lingual comes in handy;
Capabilities in software development (including writing software requirement documents), process creation, and purchasing/sourcing are valuable.
Schedule
35 hours per week, with time required outside regular hours and on weekends to be expected.
Compensation & benefits:
Salary to be determined based on the candidate’s experience and knowledge;
