A nod to our partner farms for delivering through every twist and turn this summer.
We’re so thankful for the hard work our partner farms put in year after year. Our team is always eager to visit them during field season to strengthen our connection and witness all their effort firsthand. This year came with its fair share of challenges including heavy floods, unexpected harvests, and crew setbacks testing their resilience - yet through it all, our network of growers pushed forward, delivering the fresh, local, responsible produce our Lufavores know and love.

Jean-Pierre Plante, Île d’Orléans
After last summer’s storms and floods, the Plante family had a refreshing change of pace. This season was a breath of fresh air, with fields of organic berries thriving under what they considered near-perfect conditions. Each fruit was picked at its peak, and the response from locals and Lufavores was just as sweet.
Bio-Saveur, Laval et Mascouche
From early to late summer varieties, Karl mastered the field stretch despite a rocky start. The delayed arrival of his workers forced him to abandon a couple crops in the spring while August floods wiped out most of his tomatoes. Yet, Karl and his team stayed resilient. Thanks to well-timed rains throughout the rest of the summer, they managed to deliver plenty of high-quality organic fruit and veg.
Jardins d’Ambroise, Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare
Julie and Sébastien know how to prepare for sudden changes in weather. Because of their strong focus on soil health and deep drainage integration over the years, they emerged from heavy rains with minimal damage to their crops. With a stretch of perfect harvest days, the whole team is now soaking in the fruits (and veg!) of their labour.
Collectif Giroflée, Hemmingford
Bountiful blueberries and new partners were Benoit’s main focus. The crew managed to stretch their beloved organic blueb harvests far beyond the usual season, while their venture into new veg proved more demanding. But the real highlight was welcoming more members to the collective, boosting shared knowledge and keeping everyone’s fields productive.
Chapeau Melon, L’Ange-Gardien
François took this season in stride thanks to rare crops and surprise harvests. The perfect blend of heat and rain led to an impressive start of the summer but one of the farm’s clients closing up shop unexpectedly threw a wrench into things. Still, François finished stronger than ever with his prized organic melons and fan-favourite baby ginger shining.
Vallons Maraîchers, Compton
After over two decades, Jacques has learned to slow down and embrace each season. Unaffected from extreme rains and winds (thanks in part to his natural forest line), his fields thrived this summer. But now ready to retire, Jacques’ challenge is finding someone to carry on the farm’s organic legacy. Still, with over 40 working hands on deck this year, he made sure to finish his 21st season on a high note.
