Apple & pear granola crumble

Traditional, heartwarming and simple. This apple and pear crumble is surprisingly easy to make.
 

Ingredients

 

  • 4 apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
  • 2 pears (peeled, cored and sliced)
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
     
  • ½ tsp ground cardamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2 cups granola

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F and butter a baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, cardamon, and ginger.
  • Add the apple slices, pear slices, and lemon juice to your spices and mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture to your buttered baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, using a wooden spoon, gently mix butter and granola until clumps form.
  • Crumble this mixture evenly over the apples and the pears.
  • Cover all with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • When the time is up, remove the foil and continue baking for another 20 to 30 minutes or until crumble is crisp and begins to brown on top.
  • When done, serve on its own or with a scoop of your favourite ice cream. Enjoy!
